There are a wide variety of reasons why someone might want to seek out a natural remedy for what ails them. Personally, I utilize natural remedies both because I enjoy thinking resourcefully and making use of stuff I already have on hand, and because I donโt want to rely too heavily on over-the-counter pain medications, which can be hard on our kidneys.
And while most natural remedies are simple and easy to use, they do require a different set of supplies than what you would expect to find in the average medicine cabinet. So I decided that I would put together and share a guide of my own must-have items for the โnatural medicine cabinet!โ
Most of the items in this list should be familiar to you, especially if youโre familiar with natural remedies and DIY solutions Iโve shared here in the past. Armed with these basic and relatively inexpensive items, youโll have everything you need cure what ails youโฆ the natural way! :-)
9 Must-Have Items For Your Natural Medicine Cabinet
1. Essential Oils
Essential oils are an indispensable part of my own โnatural medicine cabinet,โ and while I could go on and on about the uses and benefits of each one in my collection, weโd be here all day! ;-) So instead, Iโve chosen to highlight a few that I consider indispensable for natural remedies:

Whatโs in YOUR natural medicine cabinet?

I use stuff like Jillees homemade saline itโs great for helping to stave off infections. I use Bacitracin- itโs an antibiotic ointment. I found out about after my surgery and used it to shrink my scars. Itโs very easy to find it stores. I also keep an ice pack with the little bubbles. I have Arthritis in my feet and it helps with swelling.

I know they use it and are very familiar with it in other countries. You can buy Arnica gel or cream and I prefer the gel. It is the absolute best thing for any contusion. I have seen it work miracles with so many things: My grandson fell in the bathtub headfirst when he was little. He was screaming and fighting as my daughter tried to apply some Arnica, so she only managed to get one swipe of it on his head. By afternoon, there was swelling and bruising except where she had applied the Arnica. There was a clearly visible finger line where one application of Arnica had been swiped. It not only decreases or eliminates all bruising but it also takes out the pain. I have used when a hammer fell on my head, when I slammed my finger in the door, when my granddaughter got hit in the head with a tennis racket, and many other things over the years and can promise it takes out the pain and decreases or eliminates all discoloration of bruising and reduces or eliminates the swelling. Oh, it also stops fever blisters in their tracks. When I feel one starting, I apply the arnica repeatedly throughout the day, and the fever blister never develops!

Please log in or create a free account to comment.I wish I could use essential oils. My husband has fragrance allergies and most EO’s bother him. Peppermint and lemon are about the only ones he can stand. I always find it amusing that Eucalyptus is supposed be so good for nasal congestion because for my husband it does the exact opposite on top of giving him a horrible headache.
Please log in or create a free account to comment.Great ideas. The link for the salves isnโt working . It just pulled up the Apple Cider Vinegar link instead. I am recuperating from surgery and hoping it will help with some of the bruising. I have to be careful until the โglueโ dots dissolve and then I can apply other stuff . Iโve used the lemon, lavender and peppermint for allergies before in my diffuser and also tried it in the gelatin capsules. With some success.
